Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association – Grand Chapter of Greece
Who We Are
The Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association (WSMRA) is an international brotherhood of Freemasons who share a common passion for motorcycling, charity, and fraternal service. Established in the United States in 1998, the Widows Sons has grown into a worldwide Masonic riders’ organization, with chapters in Europe, the Americas, Australia, and beyond.
The Grand Chapter of Greece marks the official arrival of the Widows Sons tradition in our country, under the auspices of the National Grand Lodge of Greece. Although new to Greece, the Widows Sons is built upon a long and respected international Masonic heritage.
Why “Widows Sons”?
The name Widows Sons comes directly from the symbolism of Freemasonry. In Masonic tradition, every Freemason is considered a symbolic “son of the widow,” a reference to the legendary architect Hiram Abiff.
The name reminds us that we are all bound by brotherly love, relief, and truth — the foundation of both Freemasonry and the Widows Sons Riders Association.
What Is the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association?
The Widows Sons is not a motorcycle club in the conventional sense. It is a Masonic association of Master Masons who ride.
Our purpose is to support Masonic lodges and Grand Lodges, promote Freemasonry in a positive and visible way, raise funds for charity and community service, and strengthen brotherhood through shared experiences and travel.
Members of the Widows Sons proudly represent Freemasonry in public, wearing their colors with honor, discipline, and respect.
Our Mission
Support of Freemasonry
We assist Lodges and Grand Lodges through event participation, fundraising, public visibility, and volunteer support. We are active Masons first — riders second.
Charity and Community
Around the world, Widows Sons chapters raise funds and awareness for widows and orphans, hospitals and children’s charities, disaster relief, and local community causes. Every ride is an opportunity to make a positive difference.
Brotherhood on the Road
Riding together builds trust, friendship, shared experiences, and stronger bonds between Brothers. The road becomes a place where Masonic fellowship continues outside the Lodge.
Widows Sons in Greece
The Grand Chapter of Greece represents the beginning of this international Masonic riders’ tradition in our country.
Our goal is to build a strong national brotherhood of Masonic riders, support Greek Lodges and the National Grand Lodge, participate in national and international Widows Sons events, and represent Greece with honor abroad.
We are laying the foundations for a fraternity that will grow with discipline, dignity, and Masonic values.
Who Can Join?
Membership is open to Master Masons in good standing who are legally licensed motorcycle riders and who accept the rules and traditions of the Widows Sons and the Grand Chapter of Greece. This is not a motorcycle club open to the public — it is a Masonic body.
A New Chapter, A Timeless Brotherhood
Although the Widows Sons are new to Greece, the spirit behind them is ancient. It is the spirit of Freemasonry: brotherhood, service, and the pursuit of light — now carried on two wheels.
The Grand Chapter of Greece looks forward to riding the road ahead with honor, charity, and fraternal pride.
